Spuistraat Typeface
The typeface (lower case only) was my first attempt in type design.
sort of a personal interpretation of modern typography in Amsterdam, as opposed to classical dutch typography, which I knew nothing about while working on this font.

After some experimenting with different ways of molding the letters from plaster, ending up with a large pile of broken letters,
I decided to go with the fool-proof method of cutting the letters out of small blocks of plaster.
For the background I used a small pool, I filled with blue gouche. the letters were then deeped in color and photographed.
